Leah Warren
After graduating from The University of Missouri with a degree in Middle and Elementary education and a graduates degree in Administration, I went on to teach Family and Consumer Sciences (a.k.a. home economics) in the public school system for 6 years. When we decided to grow our family I chose to enter into motherhood full time.  Full-time motherhood then turned into the desire to teach my own here at home which has proven to be an incredibly rich way to teach!  While spending time with my 4 little ones is beyond rewarding, I also enjoy teaching the joy and value of cooking/reading to as many as are willing.  With the “read.cook.grow.” program I can enjoy the best of both worlds!

In the Summer of 2012 I had the pleasure of opening my camp up at The Pantry in downtown McKinney.  We had such a blast reading classic books and creating yummy food in such a charming (and delicious) restaurant.

I also had the opportunity to share my camp with Compass Academy, a camp that reaches out to kids on the Autism Spectrum.  We had a blast making gluten free pizzas and picking our ingredients fresh from Ms. Sheila's garden!

Then, in the spring of 2013 (before my 3rd child was born!) I opened up the camp at one of my favorite places...my kitchen!    I loved sharing my kitchen and garden with all of my campers and their families and I hope to share it with you too.  I look forward to pouring in to your child through "read.cook.grow".

****************** Due to an out of state move, I'm pleased to announce that Elisabeth Srader has agreed to teach read.cook.grow. for the Summer of 2017.  Elisabeth is a dear friend and "colleague" whom I've had the pleasure of teaching this curriculum along side through the Mckinney Area Chistian Homschool Enrichment Program.  I'm excited to see how this can "grow" in a new city. ********************

 Elisabeth Srader

My name is Elisabeth Srader and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you how excited I am for the opportunity to share a few hours with your sweet kids this summer!
After graduating college with a degree in education, I taught middle school science for 5 years before starting a family of my own and have been staying home with my kids ever since.  My sons, Rylan and Ransom, are 8 and 6, and my daughter, Reagan, is 4.    Our homeschool journey began 3 years ago, when Rylan started kindergarten.
We love the opportunities that homeschooling has afforded us, one of those being our involvement with MARCH Enrichment, where I met Leah 2 years ago.  This past year, I was able to help in her read.cook.grow. class and we had so much FUN!
When Leah asked if I would be interested in taking over her camp, I hesitated, but then I started thinking about it, ideas starting flowing, and I started to get excited!
And now, I can't wait!  I can't wait to meet your kids!  I can't wait to read great stories, make awesome crafts, try new recipes and to LEARN!!!  My prayer is that your child enjoys their time at camp, is engaged in the process, and leaves with a greater appreciation for our world and the people in it!
